David Stern: "I've got your transparency right here, suckas!"

In the wake of the Donaghy scandal and ongoing complaints about refereeing, it was natural for the league to try to create transparency. So now they've gone out and named a Senior Vice President of Referee Operations who will oversee everything related to refereeing and act independently of Basketball Operations. Who knows, it might be a great move. I just think it's hilarious that the guy is a retired Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and goes by "General Johnson." (Seriously, read the press release: "General Johnson will be responsible for all aspects of the NBA's officiating program, including recruiting, training and development, scheduling, data management and analysis, and work rules enforcement.").

General Johnson?

League Officials: Commisioner Stern, we need to increase the transparency of the referee oversight.
Stern: Transparency? How about I give them beach music to shag to!
